Minnesota baseball league ready for pre-teen play with Portolite’s 6” Game Mounds

Minnesota’s Stillwater Area Baseball Association Treasurer Dave Andrews feels well-prepared for the season and the preteen players he manages.

Andrews replaced his aging pitching mounds with three 6” one-piece Portolite game mounds last year. That gives him the confidence his pitchers will throw from a durable, safe mound each time they take the field.

“I did a fair amount of research on the internet,” Andrews said. “These Portolite mounds are lightweight, and that allow us to be much more efficient when adjusting mounds between games. That time saved really makes a difference when you’re managing eight teams of 9-to-12-year-olds.”

Portolite mounds are designed with tapered edges to prevent lips, so no more raking dirt around mounds.

The popular 6” mounds are hand-crafted in the U.S. and are designed for players ages 8-13.

They are 6”H x 8’11”L x 5’W, the perfect size for young pitchers getting into the feel of the game.

Weighing just 120 pounds, the one-piece game mounds are light enough for crews and players to move easily from field to field during tournament play, or into the shed for storage.

Mounds are made with gentle slopes for pick-offs. Those slopes also mean no more falling off the pitching mound. They are made with the highest-quality fiberglass, poly and turf materials.

A hidden “wear pad” located in front of the pitching rubber ensures the baseball mound will last season after season.

Portolite’s pitching rubbers last 10 times longer than industry standards. Our mounds come with a limited 10-year warranty.

You can choose among green, red, clay, and tan turf colors.

The Stillwater Area Baseball Association’s game mounds are sure to get plenty of use in coming months.

Andrews did his homework, and gave Portolite a top score.
